Our Approach
Individual donors in the United States give over $250 billion a year to nonprofit organizations — an astounding 82% of all charitable giving. Due to today’s economic climate, many donors are reassessing their charitable giving patterns to make sure their philanthropic dollars are truly making a difference.
 IGNITE has developed a framework for the philanthropic process that is based on best practices and years of experience designing, supporting, and evaluating programs and solutions for our clients. We offer flexibility, so clients can start the process at the beginning or jump in at any stage.
- 1. PLAN - We begin by gathering information about your giving history. Together, we engage in exercises that help you articulate core beliefs about wealth, family, values, and corporate citizenship, as well as passions for giving.
- 2. ALIGN - To align your interests with your giving strategy, we gather the learnings from the assessment and create a report that includes proposed mission and vision statements.
- 3. FOCUS - To create a strategic focus for giving, we lead meetings or a group retreat with customized workshop and discussion sessions that identify each client's focus and preliminary giving goals.Together we develop a framework, a plan, and benchmarks that will launch your new giving strategy into action.
- 4. LEARN - We help build a knowledge base around your interest areas. This may include site visits to specific organizations, meetings with topic experts, the development of white papers, and immersion in the issues you have selected.
- 5. IMPLEMENT - We work with you to "staff" your giving program or foundation, according to your resources and needs. We define roles and responsibilities, organize board and/or family meetings, research and prepare proposal summaries, and set up administrative and financial procedures for maximum efficiency.
- 6. EVALUATE - We engage in ongoing communication and evaluation to measure the impact of your giving. Your mission and goals will be revisited over time as you gain experience and consider the results of your efforts.
